Hyundai’s Plan – Venue Diesel Automatic

Ahead of its November 4 launch, Hyundai revealed a few key details of the new-gen Venue. However, a recent viral Instagram post revealed an exciting detail of the SUV. The post seems to be a snapshot of the new-gen Venue brochure. In that snapshot, we can see that the Venue, for the first time, will be offered with a 6-speed Torque Converter gearbox on its diesel engine!

Yes, the SUV was first launched in 2019, but it never offered an automatic gearbox with its diesel engine! Now, it is confirmed that the Venue, with its 1.5-litre Diesel Engine (114bhp & 250Nm), will come with a 6-speed AT gearbox. This was expected as its sister car – Kia Sonet, received the same update back in 2023 – making the Venue the second SUV to get this combination in the segment. So, will this help Hyundai to draw some sales of Tata Nexon or any other competitors that majorly offer diesel engines with AMT gearbox?

New-Gen Venue – Specs, Features, Price

Apart from the new automatic gearbox with a diesel engine, the new-gen Venue will continue with the same engine options. This includes – 1.2-litre NA petrol engine (82bhp & 114Nm) & 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (118bhp & 172Nm). Among these, the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine misses out on an automatic gearbox, while the turbo unit gets an option for DCT. Additionally, the SUV will come with new features like – 12.3-inch Touchscreen System, 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, Reclining Rear Seats, Dual-zone Automatic Climate Control, Traction Modes, and more! What’s more? Well, the new model will also have a longer wheelbase that will improve the cabin space – compared to the current model.

Earlier, we speculated the expected pricing of the Venue to be between Rs 10.50 lakh & Rs 16 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). However, as Hyundai has decided to offer diesel-automatic with the new model, the top model could go all the way up to Rs 17-17.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
